I am Black and I feel no hate or anger towards white people or any race period. Slavery is in the past and the white people walking this Earth today were not the slave traders or the slave masters. I disagree with those who agree that slavery was a good thing and those who use slavery as an excuse for not wanting to progress in life.

I don't think there's a chip. I think that to acknowledge a race at all is the problem. We're not emphasizing the individual. Can we really say a race stands for what an individual believes? Their hopes/fears? Their talents? Weaknesses and strengths? no.

I do not think most black people use slavery as an excuse at all. As a matter of fact, I think that some white people actually say that to play what I call the "victim card." I feel no anger either, yet there is many people that want us to in an effort to attempt to discredit us in someway. All it would take for them is to hear one person out of a million to say something about slavery and they would be on it forever. I do not use slavery as an excuse, but it is important to remember it. It is important to see how much our ancestors went through so we can have what we have today. If it was not for slavery or the fight and struggle afterward. I would not have the career, home, or automobiles that I own. Most importantly, I would not have peice of mind.

I am sorry that all that happened so long ago. But my ancestors were right there along side of the slaves working in the fileds and such. I have many good friends that are black and would not trade them for anything in the world. I, too, hope that someday everyone will be able to get along. But as we are not all the same not everyone will get along all the time. Take what is going on now for example. The War. They are here in America living nice and comfortable lifestyles, but all the time complaining about us with their families and friends. We were all made from the same God, no matter what you call Him. But that is life and we have to take the good with the bad. God Bless and Live like there is no tomorrow. Keep in mind that what you give out comes back to you. Good or Bad so those who do bad will recieve just that and vice versa.

I totally agree with you and support your point of view. I have no hatred towards any race and have friends of all rainbow colors. People are people and I enjoy the diversity of God's creation. I don't think present day Caucasians owe me a thing and I disagree with those who say slavery was good.

LOl what ever that suppose to mean, i'm West Indian a Proud Jamaican I must say, and as everyone who studies west Indian history should know slaver was abolished in the Caribbean in the mid eighteenth Centry i suppose and jamaica had some of the worst slave drivers and master, simply studying history and seeing what slaves in Jamaica and the wider CAribbean had to go through makes me angry and so i hated the subject, i totally forget about.
the Lashes, the bruises, the Scars ,the shackles, it's too much to list.
This however does not instill in me any hatred or anger towards any white people or any caucasian who considers him/herself superior and we(BLACK) inferior.
Slaver took place hundreds of years ago even before my grand parents were born so who am i to perpetuate memories of hatred and anger at white people one held my fore fathers.
i'm a christian and in order for me to reach heaven and be with god i have to love everyone, regardless of colour, class or creed, so to me it matters not what they(white People) think we have on our shoulders.
its love none stop to everyone.

questioned approximately this myself. different communities like the chinese language, Irish and Germans weren't dealt with too properly interior the previous the two yet you dont see them at the instant annoying what the blacks call for. you do no longer see them crying discrimination for all time approximately each little thing. additionally, the blacks ought to take a seem at who it became that initially offered them into slavery interior the 1st place - different black tribes raided villages and abducted and raped and offered the individuals to the slavers interior the 1st place.
