Any American can run for President. It's the Politics of the establishment that will not allow this to happen. Why are American conservatives so paranoid and ignorant that they try to oppress their people? Like the song says"a change will do you good".

why not?
if he knows his stuff, i dont see a reason why we cannot have an african american as president.....
you say in your question that you think blacks should be able to run for president.....
African americans are allowed to run for president as so are all others, but there is a stipulation to that, you must be born in the USA. I think it is the 25th ammendment that bans the non usa born american to not run for president.
we see a lot of blacks in politics, some are very bright and do great work, some are just worthless, but if there is someone out there that has thier head on right, and can win the affection of the american public, then yes, there could very well be an african american president.....

they are able to run, Sharpton, Jackson and Keyes have been quite visible and vocal in the past. hell we have Jesse Jackson in the 88 race to thank for the term 'African-American'
when the right person, male or female is able to corral the support, and the money they will be elected. yes with a white majority it will require more effort for an individual of African decent, but it is by no means impossible, Colin Powell or Condi Rice could very well do it would they be inclined to run, while I think Obama is currently too inexperienced to take it in 08, I wouldn't rule him out in 8-12 years.

The problem is that people got to stop thinking in terms of African American, or Lady President.
Think of them as Americans and can they do the job. It is that simple.

I believe that the color of a person skin should not be a determining point in whether or not he/she could be the president. The main issue from my point of veiw is the policies. Theres as many white candidates I wouldn't vote for as black candidates I would.

Any American should be able to run for president regardless of race, sexual orientation, sex... Anyone.
It just should not matter at this point. When you look at our history it is high time we open our minds and let the best person win.

I wouldn't vote for him just cause he's "BLACK", I wouldn't vote for someone just cause they're "White" either, it depends on the man, when we get to 'Heaven" God's going to kick all of our asses for being so stupid as to fight over the color of a human being, why don't we segregate against hair color too.

I think we should elect a President based on his/her qualifications. I do not care if he/she is male or female or what color his/her skin is.
