It depends on what you mean by english. If you're talking about english language-wise, you may just not know enough. Try taking some english lessons or something like that. =) There are books on grammar that can help and having a dictionary with you can help you look up words you don't understand.
However, if you mean english as in the subject in school, that's a completely different story. I myself have horrible problems with understanding literature and newspaper articles, finding metaphors, and understanding poetry. I just can't figure out what they mean. This is something that might be able to be fixed by taking a class or getting some help from a tutor, but after 10 years of struggling with this it hasn't gone away. =( I think if it can't be fixed, it's just a personal problem. Some people are great at math, some people are great at art, and some people just can't do those things. Everybody's different, so don't worry about it.

Your name shows you are a Marathi speaking person. I have found Marathi speaking students feel some complex. So it is necessary to improve self confidence and use English whenever you get a chance.
You have drafted your question in much better way, so I feel learning and using English should not be a problem for you.
All the best.

I don't think that your english is bad as your way of asking the questioning is very very perfect. But if really your english is bad then I can give you a suggestion which can really help you that is to attend an English conversation class or to talk with your family members in English.
You need to keep yourself in contact with an Oxford English Dictionary if you really want to improve your English.

Your question is written in a better manner than many on this forum. Therefore, I would suggest that you use every opportunity to listen to English radio and practice your English speaking at every opportunity.
English is not an easy language to learn, as frequently evidenced by inhabitants of the USA.

Read print material (books, newspapers, magazines) rather than emails and web-based junk. Avoid rap and other below- standard expressions of the English language. Attempt to write in complete sentences, even if it's your grocery list. You can find books on tape your local library. These are good for familiarizing yourself with regional dialects, if that is the problem. Good for you for caring enough to improve!

The only way to really become fluent in another language is to speak it all the time. Do you know anyone who is English or American with whom you could practice? Reading books and watching movies is a good way to improve too. Good luck. You obviously want to learn, and that is the most important step to achieving your goal.

Are you of American Descent? Or another country? Because, that's how I feel about the English people when they talk too fast, I can't understand a word out of their mouth's, especially someone like "Mick Jaggar", my gosh, I have tried & tried again to understand what that man says, when he gets to talking fast, and its very "Frustrating" for me!! Same thing with "Quiet, timid, shy "Lady Di" when she spoke, I didn't understand her, and wanted to so desperately because I'd heard such "Wonderful" things about her, before she passed away, you know.. I'm sorry your going through this, it must be very frustrating for you at times, eh? Well, just ask those closest to you to speak a bit slower, for you, and then maybe you can understand them, you know.. good luck, to you, hun!! Smile, it'll get easier, you'll see!!!
