if it works when plugged in and stops when you disconnect it. Sounds like you need to replace the battery as this might have got wasted in the water. Worth a try b4 byuing a new player. Good luck

If it is new you should be able to get in on gaurentee as long as you don't tell them you put it thru a washing machine, you can usually get then fixed by an electronics shop for £10-15 try it. GD luck

Not sure if this helps, but a while ago my fella went swimming with his mobile phone in his pocket on holiday, we took the battery out, and left it to ait dry for 4 days then it worked fine! Leave it to dry thoroughly, dont touch it, dont interfer with it, and you never know!

Also, it may just teach your son to empty his pocket ;-)

Try putting it in the airing cupboard on blowdry it with low heat hair dryer (low heat only, an not too close) Should work ok when dried out a bit.

Very, very unlikely as you have turned it on (tends to short out)

However, if you have accidental damage cover on your household insurance, insurers will pay for a new one (paid for my son's iPod that he dropped down the toilet!!).

no it will have to be replaced. since your son is part responsible for leaving it in his pocket you should go 50/50 on a new one if its even possible
