No. Actually, I once did a scene where I had to pee my pants. My costume was this huge hoop skirt and a pretty blouse, and underneath the skirt there was a tube full of water, than when I pressed down on the skirt, it burst and out came about eight onces of water.

But your body is not yours during a performance. A director can tell you to do or not do pretty much anything, and you obey. You can dye your hair, gain/lose pounds, buy colored contacts/glasesses, ect, ect, ect.

Um.... could you tell me what play the scene comes from where an actor pees in their pants?? I'd love to know. I kind of think you are just making this up. I don't think anybody is enough of a method actor to actually do this. The audience wouldn't know if you used a trick or actually did it. So why would you do it? Or - the bigger question is - COULD you even do it.

But...

There is a play by Sam Shepherd - "The Curse of the Starving Class" - where an actor pees on stage. He pees all over a poster that his sister has made for a school project. The stage directions have him doing it downstage - right in front of the audience - which would require him to urinate on que. I was really interested as to whether or not an actor would be able to do that or not when I read the play. A few years later, I saw that a local company was doing it - and I bought tickets - in a big part - just so I could see whether or not an actor would actually pee on stage. But - he put the poster in an upstage corner and turned his back on the audience so you couldn't see what he was doing. I was told by one of the techies later that he used a squirt bottle. That's probably what I should have expected.

Urinating on que - well - I'm sure it's a lot harder than crying on que.

I, being an actor, sincerely doubt that we pee out pants. Sure we get nervous, but give us a break! But seriously, if you check it out, there is a wide range of stage effects that can cause that effect. I can't tell you exactly what, but I can tell you that I've never had to be one of those characters.

Probably not, because the costumer would wring their necks!

Although, when I did "The Sound of Music" the first time, the little girl playing Marta peed her pants on stage. And a few minutes after that, the lady playing Elsa sat in the puddle accidentally. So funny....

99.99% of actors having do to a scene like that don't actually pee their pants. Special tech crews are usually too good at their jobs to let that happen and wardrobe would throw ****-fit............however there is that .01% of actors who are extremely commited, and have a lot of clout.

I can't think of a single play I've ever seen or read in which a character has to wet themselves. So, it's a moot point.
