Inside the dryer (what doesn't get on the filter), the flex tubing, and the vent inside the wall all need to be cleaned out.

Move the dryer away from the wall, remove the tubing from both the wall & the dryer & pull the lint out. Make sure you get around the dryer interior, too. You can use a broom handle (carefully) on the tubing. It's basically manual labor, but the reward is a dryer that will have markedly improved performance. I did this a couple of weeks ago - what a difference!

Don't forget to unplug the dryer first!

I have a a small trash can next to my dryer for lint & dryer sheets. When I am ready to clean the vent after every load I reach into the trash can & get an old dryer sheet, simply wipe the lint with the dryer sheet. It sticks to it well and at the end scoop it up and drop it trash can. ( I always hold it over the trash can while cleaning it)
As for the rest of it take it apart( the vent tube) and simply vacum it out, get your vacume attachments as far in as they will go. There should not be any inside your dryer at all or it is not working properly or you are not cleaning the filter after every load.
I had a little trouble with my dryer when it was in the basement & the flex tubing had to be longer than it was suppose to be to vent properly.

Call a professional if the dryer vent duct is longer than 5 ft. In some cases an expert will be able to see a lot more than an inexperienced diy"er" resulting in a better cleaning and reassurance the dryer vent was cleaned properly.

A long handle feather duster. Another tip: use dawn dish detergent to clean the wire or mesh filter. Most people dont realize that the fabric softener sheets they use can clog this filter. You cant tell just by looking at it. hold it under running tapwater, if the water does not run thru the filter well it is clogged. Use a soft bristle scrub brush and dawn detergent to clean it, rinse and let it dry completely before putting it back. Clogged dryer filters can cause fires.

Clean your vent with a wire coat hanger that has been stretched out to a long length and pull out the lint with this coat hanger. You can also use your vacuum cleaner with the crevice tool and suction the lint out of the tubing.

If it's very plugged up just replace the tubing. It's inexpensive and too much lint clogging things up could start a fire.
