How long does it usually take for the casting director to issue callbacks after an audition? Are the chosen actors/actresses given notice on the spot? If not, how long would it take before they are informed? Would they be told if they are not selected?

I need someone with experience/knowledge in the field to answer this. Thanks a million!

It is usually within a few days, but can be longer.

My advice, though, if you are planning on pursuing acting:
Once you leave an audition, forget it. It will eat you up if you think about it, wonder if they will call, wonder what you could have done differently, etc.

If they call, great. In the mean time, focus on your NEXT audition.

You will get a good idea of how you performed. Your only hope is to do the best you possibly can and take it from there. It is uncertain to know when you will be called back. But if the production has it straight and the amount of actors to be auditioned aren't in the hundreds, you could expect a callback within a month's time.

It's show business. There are never any guarantees that even after you're selected you'll be the one they go with or you never know if they call you later down the line. But typically, the above is true.

It really depends on the type of project.
Callbacks for a TV, or a film are not the same.
Film can take up to a few weeks. TV is faster, but can be also a wait depends on the project.
In monst cases they won't inform you on the spot, but sometimes they do.

And unless they really liked you and will maybe use you for other projects, they won't call you if you didn't get the part.

You can find much more about callbacks and auditions at http://www.auditions.name

Depending on the situation, it may take a week, or even a month. In one show I was in, it took the casting director a month and a half to get back to us for callbacks.

Usually you will hear within 2 days. Actors and Actresses are not generally told "on the spot" that they were cast. And, no, you are not called if you are not selected. Good Luck!!!!
