I am gay too, and I would like to go there... Somebody told that everybody is gay in this city, that everybody is handsome and looking for relations with other men ( for example tourists...)...

The reputation of this city is it real, or is it only a legend ?

Tell me about Mykonos, please...

No more Kings or Queens in Greece. We have democracy here.
To be serious you can find gays in Mykonos but the locals are not gays and it is not this that made Mykonos famous. It is the night life and the beauty of the island and of course the blue Aegean waters

Mykonos is an island of Greece, not a city. It is a beautiful island, with great beaches and picturesque vernacular architecture. It has been a very in touristic destination since the 50's and 60's, when it was a trendy place for international high class fashion designers, artists, etc. so naturally many of them were gay, so yes, indeed there are a lot of gay peope going to Mykonos on holidays and a lot of straight too. It has a wild nightlife and a party atmosphere, and in general it is a wonderful island, although in July-August it is very crowded and touristy.

I'm straight and my family and I have vacationed on the island of Mykonos before. It's one of the most popular resort spots among the Greek Isles and the largest town on the island is also named Mykonos. It's not quite large enough to be called a city though.

Most of the people we encountered on the island, locals and tourists, seemed to be straight like we are (families and heterosexual couples) although we heard there were a couple of gay bars in the town of Mykonos. The Greeks are fairly tolerant of that alternative lifestyle, compared to other countries but I doubt you'll find a spot on this earth that "gays are respected as kings".

Perhaps you should hope for the time when everywhere in this world gays will be respected as regular human beings. I have nothing against you guys but do not expect special treatments either.

Mykonos is like the San Francisco of Greece! Yes nobody will bo you because you are gay it is very gay friendly island why the hell should we lie...the island depends on gay tourism! They love gay people there, very open minded people wont criticize you because of your sexuality...Yes it must be the gay paradise...But dont forget this island hosts straight people too, family people but all of them are open minded and gay friendly. It is kind of expensive island but the nightlife is perfect and the beaches are beautiful! Even if you are not gay this island deserves a visit...Been there two times, i hope i could travel there this summer!

Mykonos is a Cycladic island, not a city. It's popular with tourists of all persuasions.

There is a Greek island called Mykonos, that is very popular with package tour males with a 'greek' interest. Is that what you meant?

Lesbos is a nearby island, but doesn't attract the same level of interest. A bit queer really.

Myconos is like Key West in the States. A mixed bag, where gays are not discriminated against.
