You will need a pressure regulator for each tank. The output of each pressure regulator is then coupled to a single manifold hose.attached to the device. You can turn on all or one tank. This is the usual configuration for construction heaters although I have only seen three tanks hooked up at once. Usually 100 lb tanks are used.

You can't answer the question because you have not told us what size the tanks are or how far away from a building they are. You need to check NFPA 58 for the correct code. NO YOU DO NOT NEED A PRESSURE REGULATOR FOR EACH. So don't listen to the so called top IDIOT if you need the code email me and I'll send it to you

I guess with some plumbing work you could set it up. This is not an approved setup. use a larger tank if needed.
