2 amps is probably sufficient and safe, unless your display uses a lot of lights, and the transmitter is very strong. The power requirements are normally listed on the back of the display housing, and indicate the size fuse required. 2 amps really isn't much power, may have to use a 5 amp to prevent blowing the fuse under normal conditions. The unit will always draw what it wants from the battery, the fuse only sets the maximum current limit, it does not in any way force more power into the unit.

On the back of your fish finder ,there should be a placard.this will give you all the information you need .Two amps is not a lot of amperage ,but this is determined by what form of lighting display your finder uses,or what screens you like to keep up.At any rate, you should never exceed the placards suggested requirements for fear of damaging your system(unless you like shopping at cabellas,as most of us do)PS: Don't tell your wife i said that.If the placard is not readable,I suggest you take it to your neighborhood fishing store (Tee Hee) to see if they can match it up for you and give you the proper specs.Gotta have it tip top before the season opener.

maximum any fish finder can use a small 12v battery -- bike length, yet won't run as many hours earlier wanting recharge. Humminbird makes completely contained portables which use "D" cellular a million.5 v. batteries, yet they have the transducer fastened without postpone under the tube, and the tube will upload a great style of drag, meaning you should artwork extra stable to bypass the boat. portables are not stable for velocity -- as a rule used for dock fishing.
