If you burn a candle at both ends, it has to be sideways. Not only are you fueling 2 flames, the melted wax doesn't pool and allow the wick to do its job of providing a slow, even flame. Instead, it burns wildly, consuming more wax and the wick and wasting melted wax.
That's the point - you'll burn out faster and waste a lot.

How can burning a candle affect anything in the future, except possible a minor fire from the candle wax?

I suppose so. Has anyone ever actually tried burning a candle at both ends? I should imagine it's difficult and dangerous.

Yes, trying to do things at a hectic pace from all areas will only leave your body sucked of all energy...as the air will finally suck the life out of the candle

i agree for two reasons
1) possibility of depression from going to bed too late and getting up too early
2) candles were expensive in ireland, buring them at both ends would be a waste of money, because although you would have twice the light it would burn out faster.
(unless you are burning them alternitively...)

of course, if you burn a candle at both ends it'll only last half as long.
after which if you don't have another candle, will leave you in the dark.
God bless,
