Please explain to a 75 year old man how do i get?

a picture of something off a website and put it in my avatar
please explain it in step by step old person language..I have no idea how to do this

to get a picture from yahoo images or website

you right click with you mouse

then you click save

or save as if you want to change the name of the pic
most profiles only allow jpg or jpegs

after you click save a box shows up on your screen save picture
click my documents
then my pictures folder
and click save
now you have your picture in the right spot to navigate to laters when adding to your profile




do you use yahoo messenger

is that where you are trying to add your profile picture

there are different ways to adding a picture

Using yahoo messenger click on
the messenger tab at the top OR
http://members.yahoo.com/ click view my profile top right of the page

then guide your way to my profiles

there you will see
create and edit my profile

click there
a page will load showing you public profile

click EDIT

now your at your profile page
you will see edit my profile picture

now this brings you to a screen

you will see a browse button

here where it gets a lil tricky

(i keep my pictures in a folder in my documents)

hopefully that is where you have the picture you want to post

and the picture can not be to big

now back to the browse button click on it and
navigate to where your picture is
screen will come up choose file


click my documents(or place where picture is)
when i click my documents

now all the folders come up i look for my pictures

that is where my pic is
so i click the my pictures folder
scroll to the picture you want
click on it
the name will load in th e

choose file screen under file name

then click open

this places the picture where abouts on the page then you click upload

Assuming your using Windows XP?

To get the picture; move your mouse pointer over the picture you want, right click on the picture, a popup window should appear with choices like view image, copy image, save image, set image as backtop etc..

You want to "save image as". A new window will open that is prompting you for the location to save the file and giving you the option to change the file name. The file name is highlighted on the botton of the screen, the default location is shown on the top of the window, and common alternative places to save the file are on the left side of the window.

Save the image to some location on your computer where you will be able to find it again - my recommendation is to save it to the desktop or the mypictures folder and give it a name you will understand. Also, you need to save it as a jpeg (jpg) format to use with yahoo.

If you go to the location you saved the picture (say your desktop) you should see an icon with the name you gave the picture. If you double click on the icon it should open your picture.

For yahoo. You need a 360 account. Go to www.360.yahoo.com. And accept/start your 360 page (been awhile since I've done this step, I forget exactly what you need to do). Once you have the 360 page, click on my page (from the menu bar across the top of the 360 screen). On the upper left side of you page you should see "edit personal photos". Click on the browse button next to the first photo image. Navigate to where you stored you photo, click once on your photo then click open. Now you should be back at your 360 page with a path to your picture loaded into the white box. At the bottom of the window click the blue "save" button. Also click the set a primary button. Now your picture should appear on your 360 page.

Go back to yahoo answers. In the upper right corner of the yahoo answers window is a link to "my profile". Click on this.

Next screen - In about the middle of the window is a link to "public view of my profile" and under that "edit my info". Click on edit my info. On the next screen, for the picture, select 360 photo, click the blue preview button at the bottom then click OK.

Be aware that for some unknown reason, the links between yahoo answers and yahoo 360 become broken all the time. You don't need to do anything about, just don't freak out if your picture goes away some times. It will come back magically.

download that picture to your Desktop via moving mouse pointer over it and right clicking, "Save As" option.

Go to the avatar page and look for something like "Submit file" or "Upload file", a file selection window will appear. Click on the file you saved (should be dated today) and press "open". Site should show filename and click "Submit" or "Send".
