If you mean what I think you mean, you might want to know about Earnshaw's Theorem. Basically it says that no arrangement of magnets can exist that can support a stable NON ROTATING magnet. In other words, no matter how you arrange them, the magnet you are attempting to levitate will always end up on the top of a magnetic hill such that it falls one way or another if not mechanically supported.
There are several ways around this, for example, if the levitated magnet is spinning, it becomes possible. For example,

Another way is to use a feedback loop which senses motion in the undesired direction and instantly applies a corrective force:

Also, a supercondustor repels magnetic fields such that a magnet will levitate above one by repulsion of its own field. And there's also paramagnetism which can levitate frogs and humans - google the word to find more.

It depends on what u want to levitate. If it is a small object, what u would need is two strong magnets which has around the same attractive force or replusive force. You would then place one magnet on the ground and the other around 15 cm high.(depends how strong your magnets are). Then you would need to place the object around the middle of the two magnets. If the magnets are both facing North pole or South pole towards each other then the magnets would repel, so what u would need is something which would hold the magnets in place.
The reason why the object should levitate between the two magnets are as both magnets are repelling each other it will push the object away from itself. As both magnets will be repalling the same force on the ball the overall force will be zero (at the centre), as the two forces will canel themself. Therefore the object will levitate.
If you want to levitate a large object, you would need larger magnets which has a stronger attractive and replusive force.

Two powerful magnets with similar poles exerting their magnetic fields creating a force equal to the weight of the object, can levitate that object placed on a surface.

You would have to have a long line of magnets. That's how "maglev" trains work. They are kept suspended by a long track with magnets all along it, and there are also magnets on the underside of the car. Once you feed in electricity, you get one big electromagnet!

Maybe by using alternating Poles - half will want to pull the object toward it, while the other half will try to keep it away. So it will no doubt find its point of resonance ( the happy medium between the two).

If you can the match the force of repulsion (of same poles) to the required level of gravity (to lift), you can make an object fly. If you arrange a frame sidewards, it will not fall to its sides.
