generally i assumed relations between my parents were cheifly responsible for how i got here.

Well, I wonder when your mother conceived, what made it you and not somebody else? Why were you on the inside of that particular person, and gave it a sense of it being you? Where were you before you were born? What will happen to this sense of self after physical death? If we can't answer these questions, how do we know that we wont be on the inside of a future birth after this physical body has died?

Yes I think about it sometimes, but the way I have accepted it now is as souls in a human body we can only think to the limitations of our human brains, which is restrictive compared to the understanding of the soul alone. So I think that when we pass over to the 'other side' knowledge will return to us about these matters!
