When the counselor spend time with a client they must document time spent and what was spoken about. Example if the counselor speaks to the client for 45 min. that is 3/4 of an hour and then the counselor speaks to another client for only 15 min. that is 1/4 of an hour, yet another client for 30 min. that is 1/2 hour. At the end of the day these must be added up then turned into something like this: First the fractions turn them into them into them into time spent counseling 6.45 meaning 6 hours and 45 minutes. The rest of the time was spent writing, running copies and other office work involved, etc. When I was working I did this without the use of a calculator! So The 5th grade math did pay off after all.
