They are giving time to Chris because of the decision that is in front of chris and that is if he wants to go to raw or stay on smackdown. If he goes to raw he might keep the title and US champ goes to raw. On the other hand if he stays with smackdown he WILL lose his title within a month or two. But if you also notice that is the theme of smackdown now except for the World Champ Batista. The locker room is on a every other week basis. So you will see wrestlers one week and a different set another week that is the same for raw because of all the wrestlers that the WWE have

Chris Benoit is only appearing like once every few weeks because he's still recovering from old injuries when he's healed he'll be back and better than ever
