These needles and hooks could either be used as a regular needle or hook .
For starters the would be made with hand picked Louisiana Oak. Debarked by me, sanded and shaped all by hand. Then each set decorated with it's own unique patterns. e.g. personalized with a person's name , ect.
As for pricing for now I am thinking about 10.00 and up per knitting set. 5.00 and up for crochet hooks.
I would have to give a percentage to the person that will allow me onto his land to get the wood.

There is a market for everything, but your market is probably quite small. How long does it take you to make one finished product? If it takes more than an hour then you are effectively working for below minimum wage when you take into account your costs for wood, advertising, etc. Good luck with your venture.

I have a 8 year old grand daughter and she wanted knitting and crochet things for Christmas. When I was at Joann's craft store which is very big out here in western Washington state I noticed a lot of young knitter sets of stuff and beginner supplies for the knitter. not to brag but She is always ahead of the curve so if she is in to a craft then most girls her age will be also. So you might have an audience for your product if you can catch these young knitters before they move on to something.
who knows good luck

It would all come down to price. As an artist myself, I find it very difficult to get people to pay for the hard work one puts into a piece created with care and love. People want everything at the going price in Wall M., regardless of the hours of work put into the item.
Describe your item more and guesstimate your price?

I would, and I have. There is a local artist in Iowa that handcrafts crochet hooks. I love it, but I've only used it once. It's too beautiful to use!

Of course I would, that is if someone would "finish" teaching me how to knit! I know how to crochet! :)

No I don't think I would. I don't know how to knit or crochet and I don't know many people who do.
