I am really quite shocked by this question since i have never heard of it to begin with. I go to the middle east all the time, have worked over there and they have a different culture which may explain what you are saying.

Basically most of the countries there segregate men and women so from early on boys are friends with other boys and with no females unless in their family. So there is not a problem with men holding hands, hugging, kissing on cheeks, stuff we deem as being "gay" even though women do this all the time and there seems no problem with that. We all need human contact and when there is none by the opposite sex it is only normal that they recieve from the same sex. THIS does not mean at all that they are gay or have sexual feelings for their sex!

THis is the best way i could explain it in the simpliest of terms.

Well let us look at this. If they are all gay where do all the little Middle Eastern children come from (you should talk to your mother and father ask them to explain where babies come from).

Secondly, the middle east is a rather diverse lot, so we can't generalise.

Thirdly I think you may be referring to relationship between men and boys. This is something they obtained from the Greeks (Aristotle was Alexandra the Greats teacher, so he would likely have received a ******** from the great conquerer).

This practice still exists in countries such as Pakistan and Afghanastan, however I am not sure how common it is.

No bigotry, huh? Why would you assume that a bigger percentage of men would be homosexual in a region where homosexuality is outlawed and sometimes a death sentence?

Actually, I read a study on this a while back. Homosexuals are very much in the minority everywhere, but they exist in larger numbers in Europe, North America and Latin America, followed by SE Asia where more liberal attitudes towards homosexuality and sexuality in general prevail. They exist in such very small numbers elsewhere that they barely register in the statistics.

i wouldn't say most but quite a few are. They all are quite fond of kissing eachother on the lips though. Which is also why Herpes of the lips spreads like wildfire over there.
