If you're getting the tc brand new, and the c230 used, then you might have less problems with the tc because of the warranty that comes with the purchase.
The thing is, it may be a completely different feeling to wake up with a c230 waiting in the garage.
So, if you're willing to spend some on maintenance, by all means, go for the C230.

Mercedes-Benz C230 Kompressor is better because it delivers a lot better performance than the Scion tC.

I am a die hard Tc fan, but you just can't compare a 'cedes to a scion. Like they said above, apples and oranges. The kompressor is the better car hands down, but you are going to be paying MUCH more for it obviously. Even simple things like oil changes will cost a lot more then the scion's. You do what you can afford an like. As long as your happy with your choice.

Go test drive the 2. My 06 TC has 25000mi. and not a problem. My 5-speed has plenty of power and never missed a beat. My wife tested a Kompressor and we both laughed at the lack of power from the pressor...

tC! I wouldn't touch an entry level German car with a 10 foot pole (BMW 3 Series excluded). However, that Kompressor is tempting -- Then again..theres always the factory TRD Supercharger available for the tC (FINALLY for the 2007 tC now) Best wishes.

More like Scion vs Civic, or c230 vs 325i, The last two will cost more to own and maintain. Not to mention you can't compare between the two groups. BUt since you asked...c230 = Better.

personally i like the tc better. not big on the benz. plus just think of all you could do to the tc with the $ saved over buying the benz. and alot of it can be done from the factory, wich avoids voiding your warranty.
