You need to do 2 steps - soften the glove and make the pocket.
To soften, I recommend the soften they sell where you buy gloves. (Some people do the baking in the oven thing - "hot glove" - but many do not.) Do not use too much of the oil.
Next put a baseball in the best "catch" place, close the glove, and tie it shut with shoestrings. Put it under your mattress for a few nights.

I've used shaving cream (not the gels) in the past, which is how the great defensive SS, Ozzie Smith, used to soften his gloves. Play a lot of catch and store a ball inside the pocket with rubber bands around the glove to help form the glove.

Easy, cheap way to do it :
Get a 5 gallon bucket of water
Put glove in water for about 5 minutes
Take the glove and slap it hard on the ground to get moister out
Repeat 2 or 3 times
Learned this trick when I was a kid and still use it today, after your done the glove should be game ready.

Use a glove/leather conditioner. I like Glove Dr.. Rub the conditioner into the glove following manufacturers directions. Repute this process daily for about a week. Put a ball in the pocket and wrap it over night between conditioning treatments. (I use shoe laces tied around it ). Make sure you clean your glove with conditioner after you use it and before putting it away for the season :)

It totally depends: if it is a cheap glove use the oil or use the rubber band idea. If it is a more top of the line glove break it in by just using it.

I know this may sound crazy, but roll over the glove with a car. It works. I heard about it on youtube.com

get the glove soaking wet for five minutes and then dry it of with a towel and then use it to play catch that will shape the leath to your liking because alot of people catch the ball in different places of the glove some in the pocket and some in plam ( like me in the palm) so get it wet and play catch with it
