I just want to make sure ....
is it safe? what else can i feed them? (people food)

No you can not feed them pancakes! You can feed them the occasionally fruit and vegetables for treats. Check out this site for a list of the safe foods and not safe foods.

Well, being a rodent, I think it could handle it. But, would it be healthy? I would lessen the sugar as much as you can if you are determined to do this.
As for other people foods I will guess you mean processed foods as anything that is not processed would be fine. Whole grain breads, vegetables steamed, boiled, or lightly cooked in oils.
But, I would stick to the pet store foods as they are packed with nutrition and vitamins.

You can feed 'em what ever they will eat.Can't guarantee that it will be good for them though.

No pancakes. You can feed them raw vegetables (washed first please).
