Oh yes, this is def true. We affect every thing and everyone around us, so treat others as you wish to be treated yourself, it really does work

This statement can be approached from different perspectives. Philosophically speaking, our outer world is a direct reflection of our inner selves. Therefore our enemies represent our deepest fears. When we do battle we are in fact trying to overcome these fears.
Another perspective is that we create an enemy for our own selfish agenda. This could be true for 9/11 and the whole aftermath. Who stands to gain the most after a war like this? The war mongers whose business is war (arms and ammunition, oil). War is just another business, like religion. They feed on our false sense of righteousness and security. We deny our interdependence. When we shoot our enemies, we are in fact shooting ourselves in the foot.
"When we try to pick out anything by itself, we find it hitched to everything else in the Universe. "

I think there can be a lot of truth in this, but it depends on what context it is about. I know for me, I can be my own worse enemy at times, creating more problems than I solve! I also think a lot of the wars and famine in the world, has been exacerbated by human errors, but it is a very complicated issue. Good for a debate though!

Yes. Mankind is it's own worst enemy, pollution, groups that are opposed to progress but worst of all RELIGIOUS ZEALOTS who condemn other religions just because they are different.
