Not really. After all, there are only so many hours in a day and the time he spends diagnosing the problem is time he is trying to use to make a living.

Most of the time they have to put the car on a machine, like a computerized machine to tell them whats wrong with the car, the machine can diagnose but may things can cause the same problem! I know it's hard to get good information now a days. But no they got to make a living too! Stop and think, what if the mechanic spends a lot of time diagnosing your car. You leave and go fix it yourself.. That man is wasting time and getting no money to live on. He needs to get paid.

No, because I'm paying him for his time and expertise. It doesn't upset me when a doctor charges me for telling me what's wrong with me either.

Yep!! And then they aren't right. You have the work done and it's $100 more than what they said. Argh!! Good point!!!
