I have just recently accepted Jesus as my savior. I came to Yahoo Answers under a different name nearly a year ago as an Atheist.

After being skeptical of Christians, Muslims, and other religious people I started to question my own beliefs and found that they are flawed. I noticed a hatred in my heart for Christians, and no other religious group. I could not explain such hatred, Christians have never harmed me in anyway.

I further explored Christianity to find why such a hatred brewed and came to the conclusion that I have been deceived. I have since reevaluated my position in life and found Christ in June of 2006.

While still learning a lot from the net and reading the Bible I have felt the presence of Christ in my life and if you don't, I pray that one day you do to.

This is great that you have been able to find something to direct your faith towards and to give you a greater meaning in life. Some of us choose to follow that far more elitist path of initiation and learning the inner mysteries of life since logic precludes faith, especially in important matters such as life after death. But to each his own, and if you found your place then you're luckier than most, and a far better Christian that those who think Christianity is hereditary (those who think "my folks are Christian and I've been to church, and I'm not one of those Islamic or Jewish fellers, so I guess I'm Christian.")

I have never been "saved" because I don't believe that organized religion needs to save me from anything. Organized religion IMHO is man-made and therefore flawed to begin with.......as the bumper sticker says "Christianity has Pagan DNA". All man-made religions are just that..."MAN-MADE" and therefore inherently flawed from the start.
I am an agnostic. I believe there is something but it is probably beyond our capabilites as human beings to ever understand what it is and that is that; I'm willing to live with that. My life needs no more purpose in it than earning a living for my family, raising my child, taking care of my family, my friends, giving back to my community, doing the best that I can with my life......religion is a salve or crutch that I don't need. Men or I should say people created it for many reasons and I don't feel that I need religion for any of those reasons; although I don't put anyone else down for needing religion.....many people need religion for a variety of reasons and if it helps them through their lives, then great.

Im turning away from it because it is being forced upon me. Do some research on the religion first, there is no real evidence that the bible was really written after christ died. And God has a sick sense of humor, look at the story of Job, god made a "bet" with satan and gave satan permission to murder jobs family and make life miserable.

I'm glad that you feel Christ in your life, and have left an atheist lifestyle, if you didn't feel right. However, not every atheist is waiting to be saved. You were doubtful about your beliefs; therefore, you accepted Christianity more readilly. There are non-christians who feel very strongly about what they believe; in fact, they are content. I have no problem with Christians until they feel as though they should convert others to be "saved" by their fate, or fail to acknowledge separation of church and state, or blindly vote for George Bush, etc.

Yeah am saved and i love Jesus as my savior
because He has been so good to me. He has helped me through all my problems and He gave me courage to move on. Actually God turned my world around and I will be always thank Him for the rest of my life. Leave alone those who say that God does not exist coz its written in the Bible "Dont argue with a fool"

I am glad that you have accepted Jesus as your savior.
I am also a disciple of Christ, but I don't feel any of us are "saved" until after this life and we have done the very best we can to help others have a good life and be as happy as we. Keep praying and accepting of truth when it comes to you.

I am so happy to hear that. They say that when one person is saved, all the angels in heaven rejoice.
I would add, too, that you need now to find a church. We are to find a fellowship with other christians. There is also much to be gained in corporate worship. The net is fine, but sometimes you need to talk one on one with other believers, in person.

Yes, I have been saved off and on all my life but now it has been 30 years and I am sure of it. The Holy Spirit is my friend and comforter in every way. My husband is a believer too which makes it so nice. God bless you in every way.
