I got married because I wanted to share my life with my wife. I wanted to commit my life to her, which I have during the past 31 years. I also wanted everyone to know that I had made this choice.
She has done the same. We chose this path over the typical "living together" arrangement, because we believed that the commitment was important.
The marriage is based upon love . . .not just the love people commonly associate with romance, but a love on a higher plane.
Love is an action to us, not a mere emotion. It is an unselfish attitude toward another. We choose to be patient, kind, and unselfish, at least most of the time. We avoid holding onto the times we feel wronged by the other, and forgive all transgressions.
We also work not to repeat transgressions, because we care about each other. We submit to each other, because we put each other first.

that's a really good question. i got married when i was 16 and 9 months pregnant, now 13 years later i am still married to the same person and we are still very happy and very much in love. we got married because thats the only way our unborn child could get the military benefits from my husband. we didn't have any other reason. we have never regeted our decision, even though we didn't have a traditional reason. i guess people get married for different reasons, including spur of the moment reasons. everybody has their reason.

I got married to my wonderful husband because i loved him and wanted to spend the rest of my life with him loving him and being there for him. He married me for the same reason. We have good communication and mutual respect. We are one flesh and united in mind body and spirit. We both love God and worship and pray together as well. We think alot alike and have the same interests:) We love each other unconditionally and do not try to change each other. We are loving and forgiving. Love and marriage is what you make of it and you should only get married for the right reasons and not for the wrong ones. We got married because we wanted to share and spend the rest of our lives together.

Women marry because gov't legislation guarantees them a good life. Divorce, alimony, child-custody all favor women.
Men marry for love. Women are bilogocially incapable of love.

Because we are humans, we long for companionship, and the need to be with other humans. It is something God placed in us, and we need to have those needs fulfilled by other humans. We get married because we only want to share those common needs with one person.

Because they want to have their own "clan", it is almost like starting you own civilization. Very primal, survival instincts.
