1000 MB in a GB is the conversion rate that many use, but that's a rounded off number. Really there is 1024 MB in 1 GB.

So if you had 4 GBs, that'd be 4 * 1024 = 4096 MB

If you had 1480 MBs, that'd be 1480/1024 = 1.45 GB

There are 1024 MB in a GB. So, divide the number of MB by 1024, or times the number of GB by 1024.
Example: 50000MB = 48.828GB (5sf) or about 50 GB.
You can approximate to 1000 to do it in your head!

Hope that helps,
Simon H

There are 1,024 MB in one GB. To convert megabytes to gigabytes, divide by 1024 (or 1000, if approximate values are OK). To convert from gigabytes to megabytes, multiply by 1024 or 1000.
