There's no reason to take Iran out of existence, and that could not be done anyway using the limited warfare that is employed by the US nowadays. In WW2 wholesale bombing of German cities was intended to demoralize and kill as much of the civilian population as possible, and this tactic got results. Entire cites were completely leveled; Dresden was almost completely burned to the ground in a massive firestorm that killed every living thing; One of Curtis Le May's Tokyo bombing missions burned out 16 square miles of that city in a single night. In Iraq, the US is trying to wage a war without damaging anything or killing anyone, and already the war there has dragged on longer than the the US involvement in WW2. The same thing would happen in Iran. Unless the US is willing to go in and demolish every square mile of every city and kill 90% of the civilian population outright, a war there would drag on forever and accomplish nothing. It would be a foolhardy exercise in stupidity.
The key to winning a war is: leave no stone standing and kill all the civilians.

It would be preferable to see questions like these removed instead. I doubt very seriously you have any knowledge about Iran, its culture, history or people. So are we into genocide here ? And how will that make you different from any other mass murderer. Voting NO.
