it has benefits. no one to distract the students' attention. especially that these days everyone knows how to use computers.... and it'l help with the time that is given to the student to review his/her work and all the stuff. But it can't replace social interaction...

Not a good IDea..Computers dont have "the Feeling", "The Look" and all the other social, behavioral little techniques that human teachers do.
For example, If Mary is talking to Kate during computer class, how will the computer riderect Mary? The Computer cant...The teacher can easily give her "THE LOOK" lol
This is just a brief example. CAn a Computer Model Activities for Visual Learners? How can the Computer Assess a Work of ART? That can Only be done by VIsual Informal Observation? How can a computer assess a shy child that will not answer during test time, but can produce during activities in class? NO< COMPUTERS CANNOT MAKE INFORMAL OBSERVATION< WHICH ARE ONE OF THE BEST AND MOST USE EVALUATION AND ASSESSMENT TOOLS!

I have to say no to this and not just because I am a teacher. The human element is what makes a subject interesting and engaging. Sometimes just the teachers personality is enough to inspire a student and you can't get that from a computer.

No, one can never replace human teachers by computers. There are a lot of things that a computer lacks from a human teacher. For example, love, touch, warmth, etc.

No way! In my experiences a teacher does not only share his knowledge to his students but instead they give him advices. This is the real job of a teacher- correcting the mistakes of the students. This action can only be done by real people and not computers!

Defintely not! We would be too dependant on technology if we do so... besides, teachers can help students in many areas like financial and emotional problems while computers can't...

create testing centers to do exhaustive testing in all subjects. leave it up to the students and their parents how they want to prepare for the test. if they want to go to a private school, fine. if they want to learn on their own at their own pace, also fine.
different people learn in different ways and at different rates. i know it sounds too simple and effective, but hey, sometimes things work out that way. public school = socialism + daycare

That's the most ignorant **** I've ever heard. Tell me one thing you remember learning in school.............. School is more about learning how to deal with people than it is with facts. Life is the same way, if you have no social skills, it doesn't matter how intelligent you are.
