I had two c-sections because my babies were big and the dr. was worried about lowering their heartbeat during delivery and passing their shoulders. Yes, the recovery hurts (at least the first one dose.) There is no mental affects if that is what you are asking. I didn't care how they came out as lond as they were healthy. You don't feel anything during the delivery, you are awake and the painkillers are great. It is when you get home that you will need help and driving is a no-no. Sitting on and off the toilet is terrible too. But my second c-section was really a breeze. No pain and a fast recovery. Two weeks after the surgery you are much better as long as you don't over do it.

Both of my pregnancies ended in emergency C-Sections. I don't know about planned C-Sections, but the emergency ones can cause alot of fear and questions. What did I do wrong, Why is my body not cooperating, Why can I not experience a normal delivery, etc. As for the physical disadvantages, my doctor told me it's not wise to have more than 3 C-Sections. Also, the pain afterwards can be excruciating.....but either way, the joy of holding that baby in your arms helps ease the discomfort!!

WAY better to have a regular delivery if you can. You are up and at 'em not long after, have little pain, and are on your way to looking after your baby.
However, if you HAVE to have a Caesarian section, it is totally different. Recovery time is long, can't look after baby right away, in a lot of pain.
