first thing I would say is never expect your friend in a narrow sense.... Allow your friend to live his/her own way of life... Your friend may have same thought about but he will not leave for not reaching his expectation... It is foolishness to expect something from someone... The only thing is that you have to reach your expectation and you must expect least from others...

i wouldn't suggest leaving a friend just because he or she doesn't have the charecter you expected (im not talking about if the charecter you are meanin is a very negative and cruel charecter)...if its just different..it chould be perfectly fine..no body is perfect and its not right to have a particular charecter in mnd..but in the end it depends on you..if the person has hurt you in a way you cannot forgive, then you are better off without the friend...

It depend upon the person with whom youhave friendships.Upto how much you love them.Whether they love you so much or not.It is their duty to show you how they are.They should be open to you.Then you have a choice--that you will continue or cut it.They should tell everything as you are friend to them.

Well, it's 12:35pm here in the states, just woke up and I feel like being abrasive,er,um.............I mean helpful! OK, who's the first sap,..........I mean poor soul in need of guidance........AH, my first victim,......POOR SOUL........I MEAN POOR SOUL!!!!!!!!!!! Oh yes, definitely! Anyone who does not possess the patience of Gandhi to deal with a sap like you should forget your friendship!!!!!!!!!

Don't. If you really like your friend even though he/she doesn't have what you expected in them, don't leave them. I don't have much in common with my best friend but still she's my best friend.
But if you don't like that person, just dump them if they're not the sensitive type.
