I delivered a load of HAZMAT chemicals to a plant that manufactures mattresses. This is a very expensive product, and the workers all wore face masks, and full body protection. I was not allowed into the plant, as it was toxic, and so, dangerous without PPE clothing. The barrels I delivered required 5 placards, and I'm just wondering...do Americans realize that they are laying on some serious chemical combinations, with the new type of sleep mattresses?

No matter how good it feels, I wouldn't take one if it were given to me. Years from now, when bizarre cancers are found to be caused by such agents, and the Corporation has gone out of business to avoid lawsuits, will I be guilty for not alerting authorities? The media? Is there a place a whistleblower can submit his fears of serious dangers that threaten society? This is a VERY popular product, advertised widely.

Sad thing is, that chemicals are in just about everything in this day and age. They are in our foods, clothing and even in the air and water.I just don`t see why they call it "Healthy Living" .

There is not a single thing on this planet that does not contain chemicals!

Try not to get too excited - you will find that the very chemicals you are worried about are also associated with food production and a whole host of other products.

Please take a little time to consider these products are tested for safety and licensed. Take a little time to learn some chemistry and why individual chemicals and mixes of chemicals that are dangerous can become inert, stable and safe in manufacturing processes.

Beyond doubt very minute amounts of chemicals can come from manufactured products but you will find far more coming out of the plastics, paint, carpets and many other things.

Please do not get this out of proportion. You might think isolating yourself in an oxygen tent might be safer - wrong - the tent will probably give of more chemical than the bed and Oxygen is one of the deadliest poisons known to man. Just a slight increase in the amount of oxygen you breath in will put you to sleep never to wake up again!

You're overreacting.

More than likely, these chemicals are used to create a type of plastic or foam for the mattresses, and the plastic or foam itself is non-toxic even though the chemicals used to create it are toxic.

The troubling part is that the product may be safe today. In time how ever it could and most likely will "decompose". I don't mean totally, but some of the product will denature and the original stuff could makes its way to the user. I'm sure that there aren't any gov. tests for that. They could raise temperatures and see what happens.
BTW ever see what fire fighters wear?

Are you worried enough to actually list the product or is fear of reprisal against you not worth the outcry? If you feel that strongly about it I'd suggest either stepping up or not.

KY jelly is a chemical too- and most of ingest it without complaining. Though, there is an awful lot of moaning and groaning....
