They draft him number one and then expect him to lead them to the promise land. The only problem is they never built a team around him. Instead he gives everything he had to the organization and gets his brains beat in game after game after game. Now he basically gets told he's not worth anything to anyone and is released. Pretty cold to say the least. Question is, does Carr have anything left in the tank and if so does he have a future somewhere in the NFL?

David Carr is a good QB. His time has just not come yet. He shows he can take a hit and does not bail out on the heavy rush. He "is" accurate but as you say did not get any support from his line. As someone mentioned earlier, and look at the similarities... he is following the same path as Jim Plunkett. He is still young. Miami should take a long look at him. Cam Cameron did some good work with Drew Brees and Phillip Rivers... Too bad Miami invested so much in Culpepper or I would just flat out dump him and pick up Carr. Someone compared Carr with Harrington earlier. Two different personalities. Carr is a gutsy, tough, and talented individual. Joey has always been about the hype and the money, ever since college.

Carr has plenty left in the tank, the Texans just didn't know how to use him. I think he needs a year on the bench watching a Brett Farve and learning a new system. He's still young and plenty of guys that didn't do much with their first team peaked when they got into their late 20's/early 30's (Trent Green, Rich Gannon, Jim Plunkett, Dan Fouts). I think the Texans did him right by cutting him now. However, the Texans are idiots for thinking Schaub is an upgrade. Assuming Matt plays a full season look for 3300 yards, 15 TD's and 25 INT's while completing 55%.

David Carr did not have a future in Houston. He had too much pressure of being a number 1 pick, and never had anybody other than Andre Johnson in his supporting cast. With his line as bad as it was, it's amazing to think that he could even get passes off, let alone complete them. Carr still has the ability to be a solid pro but he needs a better line. If you look at some of his numbers, his completion percentage has gone up every year he's been in the pros (a respectable 68% last season). His passing yards also increased last season. If Carr is signed by a team with an above average line and decent receivers, he should be able to contribute; however, if he gets singed by a team with a bad line and decent receivers, he will continue to struggle.

My ultimate wager is that David Carr stepped forward a foul paintings ethic for the time of each and every offseason, as quickly as he entered the NFL. Had Carr worked not undemanding and finished o.k. in prepare on a daily basis, he might have very much stronger his probabilities of changing right into a valuable, suitable notch NFL quarterback for the Houston Texans.

I thought that it sucked. He had absolutely no help. I think It is funny they think Schaub can do better. I say he will meet the same results as Carr. The O-Line is terrible. They have no running game, because of it. The Recieving core has no depth. How can Schaub win game with the same group Carr had. He Won't. Carr is one of the Best QB's on a horrible team. I do think he could End up in Miami, who is looking for a good Solid QB. Now that Culpepper is proven to be Injury prone, and Harrington a good Backup.

I don't like it but remember it is a business and he had been given several years to produce and they bypassed several quarterbacks in the past trying to give Carr confidence and assurance that he was the guy.....You're only as good as you last season.

Look at Tubby Smith of Kentucky, he won them a national championship, 5 conference titles, 5 SEC tournament titles and lost in the second round of the NCAA tournament and he was run out of town (not fair), but if you don't win and some cases even if you do win (Chargers coach) you're fired!!!!!!!!!

He definitely will find a new team and I believe he'll have a good career because you can't blame him for all of the Texans problems (They passed on Reggie Bush). A weapon like that might of kept some of the pass rush off of the quarterback....????

He simply did not perform. Playing quarterback in the NFL is a tough job with very high expectations and he was fully aware of that when he signed his multi-million dollar contract. If you do not get the job done, they will find someone who will. That is the way it works. I believe Carr will find a home as a back up somewhere, and I hear the Browns are always looking for washed up quarterbacks.

granted he was picked first overall sparking the debate of carr vs harrington for years to come, they both sucked. houston almost never had an o line and that caused carr to be pressured every game and sacked for a record number. i believe carr has talent but hes probably going to be slighty below rex grossman character, he wont win u games but if u put a good team around him he can win
