This is a piece from The Times Online, dated 23rd July 2006, and there's nothing anywhere else to say that he's died in the meantime, so I guess that at the age of 80 he's enjoying his retirement!: 'Next Sunday, Sir Jimmy Savile will bring the curtain down on Top of the Pops, having raised it when the programme began on January 1, 1964, with a line-up that included the Beatles and the Stones.'

yes, yes he is lol. i know this for fact because whilst camping i heard a rumor that he lived nearby...then promptly got shooed away by sir jim for peeking through the windows lol.
as far as i know he still lives near Glen Coe, scotland .. buccaletic moor way (i cant spell) its the only house for miles...and is white. yay
