Well, firstly, remember that downloading copyrighted songs on Limewire is !LL3g4L, but i'll just assume you downloaded some "public-domain tracks".

The general rule is if the track is 3 minutes, the size should be 3MB or more. anything much less than that, don't download. I've seen lots of fake files that are 100+kb in size.

Next, watch the format. just get the ".mp3" if you don't want too much hassle. maybe you downloaded ".m4a" (AAC) or (if you own an iPod) ".wma Protected"?

Finally, PREVIEW! When the download has reached approx. 60% or so, preview the song. See if it's what you're looking for. If it does not play at all at this stage, cancel the download. Don't waste time.

huh?
U can see the format of the songs in lime wire by clicking on the toolbar, so just check from that what format is the song you are downloading.
And lime wire mostly has mp3... my ipod never has a problem with it...

go into windows media player.
hit F3 [that will load ur songs to windows media player]
and then make a "sync list"
then drag your songs to your sync list
and hit "start sync"
and then it will convert the songs to your mp3 player so they will play

good luck
