i have a Gforce 5200 video card installed in the AGP slot, though the system turns on the light on the monitor is yellow and there is no video (dark screen)(even when the monitor is connected to the onboard slot with the card plugged in) when i remove the video card and monitor plugged into the onboard slot it works fine.

There might be something you have to do in the BIOS to be able to get it to use that card. When your computer is booting up, as soon as you see something on the screen hit "tab" or "esc" or "del" (it ususally says something on your screen like - hit Del to enter setup. Then you will be in the Bios, and you will have to look around for video options to see if you need to disable the onboard video card or activate the AGP slot. Hope this helps.

Yes...you need to go into your BIOS setup and first disable the onboard video....then you should be good to go...restart and windows will see the new video card and ask for drivers...most likely though...the video card will need the drivers from the cd that came with the card...usually it's best, and in most cases, manufacturers will ask you to cancel the windows found new hardware thing and just install the drivers through thier cd...whatever the case...disable the onboard video before installing the standalone one ya bought!

did u install the drivers that came with the video card if not that would help

maybe your AGP is not enabled in your BIOS try enbling it!
if not maybe your Video card had a problem.
