I mean was Roy Keane right to have a go at Stan and the FAI(agian)

obviously keane ruffled a few feathers out there...

FAI and the irish national team remain the same -- mediocre. they have not learned from past experiences. if you really want to get and perform at the highest levels, obviously there has to be a lot of professionalism and passion for the game... it was lacking during keane's time, it is still lacking till today..

the enemy of great is good... if the irish team is content at being good, they will never be great...

and lastly, if they keep on doing the same things all over again, they will get the same results...

look at what keane had brought at sunderland... compared that when keane's compatriot and former irish manager mick mccarthy's and there's a huge difference at the professionalism of the black cats..

no, it's not about roy keane... it's about the irish team and how mediocre it is...

i think roy keane was right. Ireland have some great players but to be honest i think the countrys time in the limelight is coming to an end, and i dont just mean football, economically aswell. Ireland as a country have been really popular for the last ten years which really did come out of the blue, now the income from tourists is falling, there wont be as much money to put into football, which again is just something they have never really invested in the youngsters at all, Liam Miller has been the only new prospect and hes not made the grade.

Wales have always been poor so Ireland really should win however that was the opinoin when we last played Wales and we were pumped 3-0.
The games between Ireland, Scotland,Northern Ireland, Wales and them are always good to watch but the outcome cant really be predicted.

I reckon the Irish can beat Wales today but only because of the Welsh injury problems (that and only having 1 Premiership player in defence and midfield).

Ireland are similar to England at the moment, both have good players who if they gelled and played to their potential could do very well at Euro Championships and in the World Cup.

I'll go for a 2-1 to Ireland.
