Hi there, i was also 7 months when i showed all the sypmtoms of pre eclampsia, a condition that is monitored very closely by your registrered hospital. Like me, you will be probably in hospital more times than you will be out of it. I was admitted on 4 occasions because of the protein and blood pressure. Its for your own good, and i know that it made me upset on frequent occasions as i hate hospitals. At least there will be other mothers in the beds next to you with the same thing. That helped me.
The main thing is not to get stressed out about anything, and don't let anyone upset you. Don't keep it to yourself. Tell those around you so that they don't do anything to upset you in these last few months. If you are happy, then the baby will be happy. If you stress out, more protein will leak into the urine.
They will probably do a few 24hour urine collections if the protein leakage is substantial like if it shows 2+ of protein. Tip: flush yourself through with plenty of water. he protein is due to the kidneys being under stress.
I wish you the best of luck hun. You will get through this. Just look after yourself and your baby.

There is nothing specifically you can do. It is a test they use to determine whether you may be at a risk for pre-eclampsia (which could be serious in pregnancy). The doctor will decide whether you need further tests. It may just be that they keep a eye on the protein in your wee and if it gets worse, then they will act. They will probably also keep a watch on your blood pressure for the same reason. It could be something as simple as a water infection. If you are worried, speak with your doctor or midwife. If you are in the UK, you could phone NHS Direct on 0845 46 47, they generally give good advice. So does the website www.patient.co.uk
Try not to worry too much, if the doctor thought there was cause for concern, he would have acted up on his concerns by now. Enjoy your pregnancy.

Hi , dont let it worry you too much , i have had 5 babies and had protien in my urine at some time on them all , it means u may have a urine infection on the way or even thrush , drink plenty wash regularly and ware cotton undies. If you get any burning or itching then go see ur doc as sever thrush can cause prem labour , which i also have had experience in
.But if you doc was worried about it he would have admited you in to hospital so it sounds like your ok at the moment.

I don't think you need to do anything if your doctor is monitoring your situation on a regular basis.Do what he/she says. If the condition is giving cause for concern the doctor will organise the appropriate treatment for you. It's only if you are not being checked regularly need you have any worry, in which case you could think about changing. Do you have a local Health visitor you can talk to My doctor has a practice nurse who holds ante natal clinics each week.

Protein in your urine can be an indication of Pre-eclampsia if presented with other symptoms ie: odema, high blood pressure. The GP will monitor this protein regularly - but dont worry!

It is usually an early indication of potential problems- they should be monitoring you and baby more now. He should have explained it better though rather than leaving you worried and confused! Ring your midwife/GP/ antenatal clinic and I am sure they will give you a proper explanation that makes sense...

I'm with Jonah on this one. Your Dr must have told you all about it when it was diagnosed. If not I would seriously think about changing my Dr and get some proffesional advice.

i had a trace in my urine, i didn't have to do anything about it, it's just went on its own, if it was something serious the midwife would of given you some medication.
