hey all... i tried to make a .bat thing that turns off the other computer on the network (in my house) but everytime i try and turn off the desktop computer from my laptop, it says 'access denied (5)... but when i do it the other way around it works, how can i make the desktop computer which has windows xp let the laptop (with windows vista) turn it off? if you dont understand the question just ask.
thanks for any help you can give lol

It is probably a privileges thing, try setting up an administrative level account and log in using that user name and password (Vista) has a much better system with restrictive functions than does XP but both will require admin levels to do a shutdown.
