The determing factor for divorce would be the level of satisfaction one has within him/herself and their relationship. I do not believe the STAGE of marriage is the key.

Divorce can happen in any stage. It is up to the people who took the vows to work at their marriage. I believe that marriage isn't 50/50... Sometimes it can be 10/90 or 80/20. There will always be someone doing more work than the other it will seem but that is what a marriage is all about. If you are looking for a time frame for divorce than maybe you should not be married at all.

I think after 2 kids possibly. The mother has made the transition from caring and giving most of her energy and a huge amount of love to the 2 kids where before it would have all been givin to the male. This changes the lifestyle once had of being carefree and freely available to go anywhere anytime without having to care about kids, the responsibility and time you must give the kids can take over not leaving much left for funtimes and more money for yourselves to indulge in.This could cause resentment and blame leading to divorce. thats just my opinion.

I think newlywed. The other things just pile on top of the already dsyfunctional relationship. It's just easier for people to blame it on poor defenseless unborn or newborn babies.
A marriage should be able to stand on its own merits. A marriage is between a man and a woman. Children are a part of the family....they should not be able to affect the marriage. If having children negatively affects your marriage, what does that say about your relationship in the first place?

It doesn't matter what stage you're in if you quit working on the relationship. My wife and I found out she was pregnant immediately after we were married. We spent so much time worrying about being good parents that we forgot to work on our marriage. I became focused on working hard to provide for the family and she became depressed over the youth that she lost because she was a mom. Slowly we became two friends who happened to share a child and now she's leaving me after 3 years of marriage. I miss her so much.... I'd do anything to win her back.

The first forty years are the hardest.
Many women lose interest in sex until the new baby is three years old or so. This is a long time for the guy to go without sex.
However, it is a fact that most people fight over money much more than they fight over sex.

After 2 kids. If you can make it past the 11th year of marriage; you have a better than 50% chance of fullfilling your wedding vows.

Well, studies have shown that married couples with children are not as happy as couples without children or couples who's children have already left home. Of course, often unhappy parents think they are doing the right thing by staying together for the kids, but in fact it has been suggested that divorce is less damaging than miserable parents. From personal experiences, I would have to agree.
