I've got 3 pc's + 3 montiors infront of me on one desk.

One of the pc's has exactly the symptoms you describe. Won't play sounds from flash (eg YouTube clips) but fine for most local file formats like mpeg ect. I've checked every setting and can't see whats wrong with it. However I notice that a recording program i have for it takes 8 times the hard-drive space in it's record mode compared to my 2 other normal running pcs. I've given up hope of fixing it... think its a messed up hard-drive and planning to re-install Windows XP on it. Sorry i couldn't be of more help.

There seems to be a problem sometimes with these flash players - there is a simple fix - go back to the site and download the player removal tool - its only a small file - use it and then reload the newest player straight from the website.

This has worked for everyone whos had this problem
