Ok, so im really lazy when it comes to sports. I dont play any type of sport(except swimming-sometimes!), and its basketball season now. They team is short on players, and a lot of people are telling me to join. Why- no clue! Anyways, so im thinking about joining as i like the sport more than soccer or volleyball... However, i have no experience at all! how long does it take for you to actually learn how to play the game? oh yeah, and the big problem.... IM PETITE!!! im not tall, and im skinny and tiny ^_^!! is it true that short people can't really play basket ball?! i mean, its not like i cant score on anything- cuz i tried to score and usually i can...... help me please?! thankyou =) xox

Good players make basketball teams.
Size has little to do with it.
Keep practicing & you should be OK.

being short is an advantage in some skills. You'll be able to dribble everybody because you're closest to the ground and because you have shorter arms and legs you can pump faster, crossover more quickly and so on. Also you shorter arms will provide an advantage on shots because of the arch your hand makes when you throw.
Try stealing the ball, run at different speeds and accelerate when going for the lay up

You must watch out for blocks and keep an eye on the taller defendant

Sure. Some great NBA players were exceedingly short. It isn't an advantage, though. Also, it is a game of endurance and skill, so it would be necessary to have a good cardiovascular system and muscular endurance.

I play good on workforce and one million on one million. TEAM: Point protect - exclusive passes. Defense and steals. one million on one million: Think approximately Allen Iverson thats the one method I and different folks provide an explanation for it.

shorter players have some advantages but bigger players also have their advantages to such as shot blocking .So shorter players have to be careful with their shot selection and play good defense.
