I do!! They don't actually vote themselves raises any longer. Those raises have become automatic per a bill they introduced quite a while back. The bill suggested that if they didn't vote by midnight on a certain date to vote it down - the raises would then go into effect and automatic every year thereafter. I also believe that they should stop using tax payer money to name buildings after themselves. The earmarks, and pork barrel they attach to bills for personal projects that have nothing to do with proper federal spending.
e.g. A Tea pot museum, testing the thickness of ketchups, testing the flavors of Earl Grey Tea, the Alaskan bridge to nowhere, and so on.
See where your money is going and how it is spent.

They can only vote one for the next session. So if I do not get re-elected I cannot get the raise. Congress does the same for a President the raise is for the next Administration not the current one.

Yes, I think it is completely wrong. And it should be up to the people. I won't say taxpayers because I happen to believe that income tax is wrong too! And, I also agree with you, that if they can vote themselves raises, then everyone else should be able to, also! *sm*

i are growing to be a real guidance by way of interpreting the reaction on your question and it rather is not an rather friendly one at that. many stuff i've got been asserting have been like the question you advise. even nevertheless the version between the quantity of what our debt is and what the quantity of foreign places help will make by way of removing it rather is not a drop in the bucket, I nevertheless think of there must be some attention to what you're asserting. one factor i've got found out is that the numbers that politicians use to create concern and placed rigidity on different politicians and their components, could be pulled from factors that are actually not solid and are specifically situations fake. and clearly all of us know we are going to hearken to mountains of crap for their attempt to get reelected. i've got been listening to approximately "jobs and retraining" for thus long that it turns right into a mantra which places you right into a stupor. i in my view think of, so what? however if reducing foreign places help, or politicians taking a cut back in pay, or millionaires not getting unfastened tax shelters and their tax breaks eradicated isn't a drop in the bucket to repay the debt it would be greater effectual than in basic terms wiping out the midsection type and having the suitable 2% ruling the country like robber barons. some thing definitely desires to be performed and radical adjustments ought to ensue, however the final factor that we ought to do is proceed to shave away on the midsection type. lowering or removing Social protection and different protection nets isn't the respond for my area. you will definitely be signing many peoples loss of life warrant if that happens.

Politicians are grossly overpaid anyway! I feel they should earn the same or lower than a police officer. Our police are just one paycheck from poverty level! If we took half of the politicians pay & gave police officers a substancial raise then the U.S would get better quality instead of quantity!
