MY favorite stretch of Road is Siracusa highway in Sicily, This was at one time in the top 10 world's most dangerous highways. with triple passing is possible(two lane highway)
My car at the time was a Jeep Cherokee. While everyone is like UH big deal(1991-1996). During the time I was there IF you had bigger then a 2.0l you were fast. Anyway 99% of teh cars on the road were wimpy FIats ,Mercedes and maybe a few BMW's ANyway I noticed that Italians like to drive fast on the starights, but on the corners they would slow down and those wimpy cars over there couldnt keep even 45 MPH up a hill slowing me down making me downshift. SO I learned to pass them on the corners and I would take a corner at 55-65mph while they were lucky to hit 50 even, usually 40 or 45 cause their cars had very little torque. Anyway I was never beat up or down that hill, keep in mind I drove it everyday for 4 or five years and FAst and Furious didnt exist. I Did get in a nice race once when i rented a ALPHA ROmeo 166 against a MERKUr XRti? BUt Once again italians slowed for the corners... Anyway that highway will make a man out of you,, I have been to the autobahn but i was in a rented VW,loaded and VW's arent fast e difference is that rode is safe and made to go fast on.. SIracusa highway isnt.. YOu should Find it on Google earth.. a Great little stretch of road inbetween Catania and Siracusa... Now days my car of choice would have to be a 07 Shelby Mustang if i want to die. I would prefer a Jeep with the top down since i suffer from road rage and with a Wrangler it all goes away, I am too old for that fast stuff now

I'd have to say that my favorite road to travel is the San Juan Skyway in western Colorado. I have usually taken my Jeep, but I don't care what kind of vehicle I'm in, as long as I get to go!
