If it is a maintenance light then no. Go to your manual and there will be a maintenance section in there you can usually find the reset procedure. If it's a service engine soon light or a check engine light then yes it has to be done at the obd II connector, but you should really find out why it came on first. Any shop that has an obd II scanner should be able to do it.

If u pop it to ur local friendly garage, they can do it and will usually do it for around £10 as its usually a quick job, some cars u can reset urself, my toyota previa type called a lucida it had a plastc plug on instrument panel, remove it and with a long blunt needle push it through the hole on thepanel into the tiny hole on the instrument cluster and its just like a reset button on most electrical toys like mp3 players etc. By pressing the reset iit resets the service information, is this what u mean ?

Hey the geezer above me has been a mechanic for 18 years, hell, I would have thought by now he could spell mechanic properly.!!

On some vehicles if you disconnect the positive battery cable
leaving it off for a few minutes then place back on depending
on what the warning is, the computer should reset its self.
