The PS3 is extremely overpriced at the moment. But don't fall into despair... the price will lower... eventually.

The problem with the PS3 right now is that they're asking for a lot of money for a system that is "attempting" to revolutionize gaming and entertainment. They should have waited to release the system if they intended on incorporating blu-ray technology. Hardly anyone is producing or buying blu-ray. I am a Playstation fan, but they waited too long to catch up to the graphics quality of XBox and with limited titles... this makes buying a PS3 less desirable.

Let Sony work out the kinks, lower prices, and increase the amount of available games and movies. Optimal buying time for PS3 is later this year or even early next year.

Consoles are edging into the computer arena, I miss the days when they were solely for games...

If I need to burn discs I'l use my PC. I don't see why I would pay £400 for something I can already do.

So yeah, it's a shame and I wouldn't pay that much, but if it was a dedicated games machine I might stump up £100 for the thing.

i don't think it is because it has so much technology in it. If you look it up you will be amazed at what they have to do to make one. Plus it has a blu ray player which a stand alone one will cost just under a grand! Infact sony are actually losing money in this that;s why they look the chip out in thr UK versions to save them and us money. So i think £425 pounds is not such a bad price.

Everyone seems focused on thie price of the console and really, it's the games that are the biggest rip off.

£400 is one thing, you just know your going to buy at least half a dozen games to go with it.

Ummmm, NO! Like hello it has a blue ray DVD player in it!! Have you seen how much blue ray DVD players cost, some are over £1,000. But the ps3 has one of them in, its highest quality games console in the world and you can play games online for free on it. So no its not over priced!
