im doing a short story assignment and i cant think about what to write about! im not really a writing person i want some help thinking of a idea???!!! plz help!

All stories begin with a question: "What would happen if...?" So think of anything happening and then figure out how your character, or society, or your anti-hero, would react to it.
Here's one: "What would happen if an alien landed on earth and people actually got to communicate with it?"
Or: "How would our society be different if we never developed transportation past the train stage" sort of an alternate history theme.
Pick some happening that would interest you and run with it.

well, i could actually GIVE you a short story, heh it earned me an A++, so.. that's GOTTA count for something. write about orphans who escape torturous..ness.. and add some sarcastic humour. works like a charm. well it did for me.
