If its healthy eating, try colours such as orange and green as these colours signify all things healthy...e.g.orange, broccoli etc. By using bright colours, they will actually take in your presentation and remember it much better. Good luck :)

I work in an Early Years setting and I try and use flashing colours for 2-3 seconds. For example, light yellow text on a green background and vice versa flashing for two seconds and then green on yellow for the duration of the slide. It seems to focus children more and touch wood we havnt had any adverse reactions yet! Also try and put some sound in it.

Lime Green, a positive green with a zen, natural feel. A zesty, postive yellow or orange would go well. Pictures of fresh limes, water drops, and fruit would be energizing. Add some fresh natural scenery for invigoration? Like a water spring?
and positive, upbeat music?

you want to contrasting colors light on dark or dark on light,
Never use bright colors because they are hard to see and they do hurt peoples eyes when looking at them for a hard time.
I would go with green color since it's a good range it's not to dark and not to light just make sure all the information you have is light color, which I would recommend white, it never hurts.

they will want to not pay attention, so i would suggest using a color that draws them in. since they're kids i would say bright happy colors (yellow, orange, bright green). at the same time, such extreme colors might seem overbearing. blue is a good neutral. it has enough color to invite your attention, but isn't going to burn your retinas.

Probably green. Definitely not red or yellow. I always seem to associate this with fast food restaurants.
