If you press and hold the * key it will lock the keypad, then press and hold * key again it will ask for your unlock code which by default is the last 4 numbers of your cell phone # unless you have changed it.

Not all sprint phones are the same. It depends on the brand. Normally it's the menu button and then the star key. If that doesn't work search you're phone in google or something and download the manual.

hit unlock and then *
if its asking for a code, put in the last four digits of your cell number.
if those don't work try holding down the # sign for three seconds

try hitting star (*) and then hit talk... that's what i do on mine
