i've been sick for some time & have a list of symptoms. being so sick, i've gotten scared, unsure if they could all 'mean something'. well, it started off bad before i even saw the PA. the med asst who prepped me kept rolling her eyes as i tried telling her all i've been experiencing (she asked), started shoving things around & obviously letting me know she couldn't wait to get out of there. i'd told her that my eye doctor said i need to get my chlolestrol checked because he could see a build up on the blood vessels in my eyes. i heard her out in the hall telling the PA this in a mimicing way like she didn't believe it could be true. he came in & told me he could only handle one thing at a time & asked at one point if my parents were hyperchondriacs. he is running a battery of lab work on me but i feel i should address the way i was treated. i feel the tech colored his opinion of me before he even walked in the room. is it right to address this or, should i get my results & move on?

As a nurses assistant, even if you did come from a history of hypochondriac's.... This type of behaviour is not accepted and you absolutely must not tolerate it. Seeing they did some tests, wait for them and then move on and repeat the process elsewhere, you will most likely will notice a difference, and yes as you leave on that last day let the know how they made you feel , as a human being you have a right to be treated seriously and with respect.

See a different doctor. Make sure you don't tell anything to the assistant when you go see the next one. Make sure you are getting a female doctor. Only because females know females and males know males. Men think that the other men will be strong and just need a few thing but when a women comes in saying they have several thing worng with them they are kinda like what, you lieing. Men and there ego trip. Talk to a female doctor and see what they can help you with. Good luck! Get a second opinion most definately!

Report this treatment by talking directly to the doctor. Unfortunately most doctors are passing patients off to PA's and nurses...and medical techs which have minimal training. The doctor needs to be made aware of how these people are treating "his" patients. They are not taking you seriously...I recomment\d you find another doctor

You will learn in time to keep your mouth shut until you are with the appropraite person.
I am afraid that I feel that there are many people out there who look things up on the net and then place their questions in here.
If you feel that you were mistreated next time you visit your doctor tell him.If he wont listen to you then change your doctor. Even if you are imagining your symptoms then he should at least have some consideration for you.

I went thru this today. I get allerg shots that have to be given in a particular spot of my arm or i get massive swelling on my and other reactions. I was under strict instruction from my specialist to explain it to the doc....who slammed her hand down on the table and said "WHATEVER".
Get another doc. Its YOUR body and you have a right to have your questions answered and be treated with respect.
Get your results and if you are not happy, find another doctor

I would complain to the office manager of this practice, and then move on to another practice.

When they give you the results of the tests, ask for copies of the results so that you can have them for your personal records, but I would definitely move on after making a complaint.

You need to find another office and fast! When it comes to your health you are entitled to dignity and respect. There are plenty of quality healthcare providers out there and the treatment you received was unacceptable. In fact, I would report it to the office manager.
