How to setup and re install my laptop from Phoenix BIOS utility ? it says windows root>\system32\ntoskrnl.exe file is missing or currupted ? and my systen screen is just black with showing accurate time in BIOS system time.

The bad file is the main file for starting Windows.
Go into BIOS and set the boot sequence so it checks the CD Rom before the hard drive. Insert your Windows CD and boot to it. See if you can do a repair.

Could be you have a nasty virus.

You need a microsoft windows cd in order to format your hard drive and re-install Windows.

you just need to repair your windows installation. insert your windows xp cd and select repair windows installation. it doesn't delete your user files
